Biography AFINOGENOV Alexander
(1904 - 1941)
Born on March 22 (April 4, NS) in the city of Ryazan province Skopin in the family of a railroad employee, who later became a writer (a pseudonym - H. Steppe).
After school Afinogenov entered the Moscow Institute of Journalism, which ends in 1924. In the same year published his first play, "Robert Tim". In 1927 - 29, headed the literary section, and later became the leader of the First Moscow theater worker Proletkult. In the early plays Afinogenov was influenced by the aesthetics of the organization of the proletarian initiative: simplified and schematic character heroes.
In 1928 he wrote the play "Wolf Trail", which received the approval of critics. In 1929, the MAT 2-m to put a "crank" - one of the first Soviet plays devoted to the advanced workers of socialist construction and the fight against bureaucracy and careerism, and in 1930 - the play "Fear".
In the early 1930 Afinogenov was one of the leaders of RAPP (Russia Association of Proletarian Writers). In 1935 in Theater. Eug. Enjoyed great popularity lyrical comedy "Masha", first staged in the same theater (1940).
Since the beginning of World War II Afinogenov led the literary department of the Soviet Information Bureau. In September, finished the play "Yesterday" against the Soviet people against the fascist invaders.
During the Nazi air raid on Moscow Afinogenov was killed. It happened Oct. 29, 1941.
