Krohn (Crane), Alexander (1909 - 1983), novelist, playwright.
Born June 30 (July 13, NS) in Moscow in the family of the composer. During the civil war came to the nursery colony near Moscow, where he studied and acquired a specialty. Worked. In 1930 he graduated from the History and Philosophy Faculty of Moscow State University. As a student, wrote 20 days in the play "rifle? 492116", devoted to the problem of homeless children during the Civil War. The play was staged in Leningrad Theater.
In 1930 - 31 he worked in Baku. In 1930 the play was written: "Coward" (1934), "Our weapons" (1936), popular in its time comedy "Deep Exploration" (1937 - 40).
During World War II he served in the Navy, participated in the defense of Leningrad, while working for the military press. In 1942, wrote (with V. Azarov and Sun. Vishnevsky) comedy Raskinulos more widely ", as set during the siege of Leningrad in 1944 - the play" The officer of the fleet, set by the Moscow Art Theater in 1945.
After the war, published a play "Second Wind" (1946) and "candidate of the Party" (1950). In the 1950's "Notes of a Writer A. Kron were subjected to severe criticism.
