Lavrenyov Boris Andreyevich (real name - Sergeev) (1891-1959), novelist, playwright.
Born on July 5 (17 NS) in Kherson in the family of the teacher-language and literature. Schoolboy ran away from home, found work on a ship and left for overseas trip. Sailed for two months until he was removed from the deck of the Italian Carabinieri (later, these events are described in the story "Marina").

The first stories, poems, reviews have appeared in Kherson and Moscow newspapers and magazines. In 1912, as a law student at Moscow University, first under the pseudonym "Boris Lavrenyov" published a poetic legend of the red poppies in the almanac Moscow symbolists "Harvest."

Lavrenev owned journalistic articles, pamphlets, satires. In 1950 was written by the political drama "The Voice of America".

January 7, 1959 in Moscow, Boris Lavrenev died.
