Biography SVIMON I
Svimon I (1556-1569; 1578-1600) - King of Kartli. In 1556, Kartli imperial throne took 19-year-old son, Simon Luarsaba I. Simon married the daughter of the king of Kakheti Levan. In 1561, Simon decided to release Tbilisi from qizilbash but was defeated and was forced to retreat. Shah appointed ruler of Georgia embraced Islam brother Simon Daoud Khan. Simon repeatedly defeats his brother, but was unable to release Tbilisi.
