Biography Carlos Ibö¦ö¦ez del Campo
Ibö¦ö¦ez del Campo, Carlos (1877-1960), military and statesman Chile. Born November 3, 1877 in Linares. In 1913 he graduated from military academy in Santiago, successfully continued his career and in 1925 was appointed minister of war. Two years later, became Minister of Internal Affairs and Vice-President, and in the end of 1927 was replaced by Emiliano Figueroa as president. However, in 1931 Ibanez del Campo was deposed by a rebellion and emigrated to Argentina. In 1937 he returned to his homeland and unsuccessfully ran for the presidential elections of 1938 and 1942. In 1949 he was elected to the Senate, and in 1952-1958 again became president of the country. Died Ibö¦ö¦ez del Campo in Santiago April 26, 1960.
