Biography SVERDLOV Yakov
SVERDLOV Yakov Mikhailovich (1885-1919), Russia's political leader. Member of the Revolution of 1905-07 in the Urals. In 1912, co-opted into RSDLP, a member of the Russian Bureau of the Central Committee. In 1917, a member of the Party Center to lead an armed uprising in Petrograd, a member of the SRW. C 8 (21) November 1917 Chairman of the Central Executive Committee (and remained secretary of the Party).
