Futabatey Shimei (his real name - Hasegawa Tatsunosuke, 1864 - 1909) - writer, founder of Japanese critical realism, made a great contribution to the creation of the modern literary language. He studied at the Russian branch of the Tokyo Institute of Foreign Languages. Been influenced by Russian writers - IS. Turgenev, IA. Goncharova, F.M. Dostoevsky and other. His views on the essence of art, realism as a creative method described in the article "General theory of the novel" (1886).
