Biography Denis Papin
Denis Papin was born in 1647. At age 16 he became a student of a French university, where he studied medicine and received his doctorate.
Then Denis Papin moved to Paris. He could remain a doctor, but met with a physicist X. Huygens. Under his influence, Papen began studying physics and mechanics.
At that time, many inventors have tried to create an engine, which transformed to heat in the work. Papin also interested in this area.
He began to study the work of the piston in the cylinder. Papen knew that if over the dilution of a piston, the piston goes up. You can do and otherwise - to increase the pressure at the bottom.
Denis Papin tried to make the pressure difference with explosions proroha, but failed. Then he began to experiment with steam. Papin warmed water at the bottom of the cylinder and the pressure forced the piston to rise. Pushed the burner - a cylinder cooled, the steam was condensed, and piston sinking.
Translational motion of the cylinder was forced up and down load suspended on a rope thrown over the block.
And then, in 1680, Papin had ensured that the steam engine performed useful work.
In addition to the steam engine Denis Papin developed the design of centrifugal pump, steam wagons, furnace for melting glass, invented several machines for lifting water. However, most of the ideas of Denis Papin had not been implemented in his lifetime.
In 1712 Denis Papin died.
