He graduated in 1860's by Nikolaev Engineering College and Technical plating facility in St. Petersburg, who is trained as a military engineer.
Upon his retirement, Pavel moved to Moscow. In 1873 he was appointed head of the telegraph office of the Moscow-Kursk railway, where a special workshop conducted experiments on electrical. They formed the basis for his inventions in the field of electric lighting, electric machines, galvanic cells and batteries.
In 1876 Yablochkov received a patent for the invention of electric candles - Carbon Arc Lamp AC. Electric lighting system ( "Russian World"), Pavel Nikolayevich Yablochkov demonstrated at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1878, enjoyed great success.
From the 1880's, the Yablochkov engaged in development and testing of generators of electric current - magnitodinamoelektricheskih machines, galvanic cells with alkaline electrolyte and other electrical devices.
Yablochkov involved in electrical exhibitions not only in Russia (in 1880 and 1882 respectively), but in Paris (in 1881 and 1889). Yablochkov became one of the founders of electrical department of the Russian Technical Society and the journal "Electricity".
In 1894 Pavel Nikolayevich Yablochkov died.
