Joe Hisaishi

Joe Hisaishi (p. 6/12/1950, Nagano) - one of the most famous Japanese composers. "Joe Hisaishi" - a nickname formed from the name "Quincy Jones" (kanji names "Hisaishi" can be read as "Quincy").

By writing a modern minimalist music Hisaishi interested, while still at music college. His first album, "Information", he published in 1982.

In 1983, Hisaishi Hayao Miyazaki advised to write the accompanying album to the manga "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Winds" [Kaze no Tani no Nausicaa]. Miyazaki's work so impressed the young musician that he invited him to write music for the movie "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Winds" (1985).

Work on "Nausicaa" glorified Hisaishi. In gratitude, he worked on all subsequent films, Miyazaki.

Hisaishi record number of times (four) received a Japanese Academy Award in the category "Best music for the film". Three of them - a reward for music to films by Takeshi Kitano ( "Sonatine" [Sonatine] (1993), "Kids come back" [Kids Return] (1996), "Fireworks" [Hana-bi] (1997)). He also wrote soundtracks for Kitano's films, "This summer, the most serene" [Ano Natsu, Ichiban Shizukana Umi] (1992) and "Summer with Kikudziro" [Kikujiro no Natsu] (1999).
