BOKOV Viktor

BOKOV, Viktor Yanukovych (p. 1914), Russian poet, writer, collector of folklore. Born on 6 (19) September 1914 d.Yazvitsy Vladimir region. Now Zagorski district, Moscow region, in a peasant family. He graduated from the school 1-st stage g.Krasnozavodska, then the school seven years in g.Zagorsk (now Sergiev Posad). Studied at Zagorsk Teachers College, worked as a turner, livestock expert, served in the Army. In 1938 he graduated from the Literature Institute (among his mentors - Prishvin), several years worked as a consultant for the All-Union House of Folk Art.
The first poem published in 1930 in Zagorsk newspaper 'Forward', in 1935 his poems and short stories appeared in magazines 'Kolkhoznye guys', 'Druzhnye guys'.
