Biography GEYROT Alexander
GEYROT, Alexander Alexandrovich (1882-1947), Russian actor and teacher. Born in St. Petersburg on March 20 (April 1) 1882. Nicholas graduated from the Cadet Corps (1903), studied at the school of painting. In 1904, after the death of his mother went to Paris, where he continued his artistic education. Member of Society 'Independent' in Paris. He had exhibitions in Berlin, New York, Helsingfors. After Paris, he moved to Florence, where he lived on the proceeds from the sale of his paintings. Returning to Russia at the invitation of Geyrot Evreinov entered an actor in 'The ancient theater' (1911-1912). In 1913, Stanislavski invited him to the Moscow Art Theater and at 1-studios.

He made his debut on the stage of the Moscow Art Theater in the secondary role of the narrator in the play by Anton Lavrent'evich Nicholas Stavrogin "by F. Dostoyevsky (1913). In the season 1915/1916 played Mozart in Pushkin's play, Fabrice in "Mistress of the Inn" (in order of urgent replacement instead AL Vishnevsky - Count d'Albaforita). In the season 1916/1917 was introduced to the role of Baron in "The Lower Depths" (after V. Kachalova). Played Mr.. D. in Woe from Wit (season 1917/1918). In the play Music Studio Art Theater "Angot's Daughter" (1920) played a conspirator Trenitsa. The leaders of the Moscow Art Theater valued skill and brilliance of theatrical techniques, the taste for distinctive roles, elegant wit, which distinguished Geyrota even in episodic roles.
