LEAR Edward

LEAR, EDWARD (Lear, Edward) (1812-1888), English poet and landscape painter. Born May 12, 1812 in London. Although later generations he is known as one of the greatest representatives of nonsense poetry during his life his main occupation was landscape painting. Lear traveled a lot, especially on the Mediterranean, built a house in San Remo on the Italian Riviera, where he died January 30, 1888

The first attempt at a complete collection of fables was made by Lear in 1912, when she came "Complete Book full of nonsense" (The Complete Nonsense Book); published in 1947 that "full of nonsense from Edward Lear" (Complete Nonsense of Edward Lear). Along with the poetic nonsense Lear has published several books on travel, which described his impressions of the artist from various parts of Europe.
