Harvey Firstayn was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of producer handkerchiefs and the school librarian. Harvey always dreamed of becoming an actor. At age 11 he was playing a cameo role in the theater "Gallery Players Community" in Brooklyn, and in the 15 years he has acted as a drag queen (gay, dress, and behaves as a woman) in the clubs of Manhattan. But his first major role was only acting debut in Andy Warhol's play "Pork" in 1971.
