Strozzi, Bernard (Strozzi, Bernardo) (1581-1644), Italian painter, one of the leaders of Baroque painting.
Born in Genoa in 1581. He studied at the painters Charles Korte and P. Sorry. In 1610 left the monastery, preserving ordained and received permission to work in the world to support the family. In 1630 (when his mother died), not wanting to return to the monastery, he moved to Venice, where he earned the nickname 'Genoese priest' (il prete Genovese).
