Biography Konstantin Mamontov
Real name - Mamas.

The military commander, Lieutenant-General (since 1919), one of the leaders of the anti-Bolshevik resistance at the Don and the North Caucasus in 1918-20, respectively.

Born in St. Petersburg 16 (28) October 1869. Graduate Nicholas Cavalry School (released in the Life-Guards Horse-Grenadier Regiment). In 1899 was passed in the state of the Don Cossacks in the 3rd Don Cossack regiment in 1900 enlisted in the military class in the village Razdorskikh. Participated in World War I 1914? 1918, has consistently commanded a number of Cossack units, was made an honorary Cossack villages Ust-Khoperskii and Lower Chirskaya. He graduated from the war, Colonel.

In March 1918 Mamas led an uprising of the Cossacks in the 2 nd Don District. He was promoted to major general and in April-May, took command of the Cavalry Group Don Army Tsaritsyn. In the Armed Forces of South Russia - Lieutenant General, Commander of the Consolidated Cossack Corps.

In August, September, 1919, led the raid White cavalry in the rear of the Soviet troops of the Southern Front. In November 1919 a case of Mamontov's cavalry corps was divided with. M. Budennogo under Kastornaya. For this defeat Mamontov was December 2, 1919 otstranen Denikin from command.

To. K. Mamontov died of typhus in Ekaterinodar (now Krasnodar) in February 1920.
