Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, known as the Maharishi, was born January 12, 1917 in the city of Raipur in India.
In early life course Maharishi studied physics and chemistry at the University of Allahabad. In studies he was interested in spiritual teachers and hearing that Brahamanda Saraswati is located in Allahabad, came to the house, where stood the teacher - Guru Dev Brahamanda Saraswati. The first set was about thirty students, but by 1960 the ninth year the number increased to two hundred. Faced with the growing demand for teachers, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (Maharishi Mahesh Yogi) opened the courses to train in Europe, where he was able to provide training to thousands more people. By 1965 the ninth year Maharishi has prepared a total of about ten thousand teachers of meditation, he gave his organization a new name - the International Society of meditation.
