Years of life: 1827. - 1862.
Born in the family of a Moscow burgher. He soon lost his father and was given six years in the Orphanage. In 1839, the boy is determined in the Moscow Theater School. He taught music, dancing, engaged in the class Shchepkina declamatory art. Soon after graduating college
Vasiliev enrolled in the company of the Maly Theater.
In the first years of the artist stands in the main roles in vaudeville. Innate vitality, spontaneity, musicality, so necessary in vaudeville, as well as humor, versatile comic talent bring the young actor success with the public. Writer P. D. Boborykin compared him to famous actors in. I. Zhivokini and P. M. Sadowski, and believed that the richness of facial expressions, intonations, he is not inferior to any of them.
Until 1853
Vasiliev played 150 roles in vaudeville and only seven in the Russian classical repertoire. But in his comic roles affected deepest sympathy to the fate of the "little" person, the protection of his rights.
