It is assumed that the milky Way through 4 billion years will be absorbed by the more massive situated near the galaxy, the Andromeda galaxy. Perhaps this will lead to the emergence of similar illusory structures in a new galaxy.
Quasars show active nuclei of galaxies. As they say, there is a supermassive black hole, which is the result of accretion pulls on the matter from the surrounding space.
