The state Duma will protect the Holy Scriptures
Deputies of the state Duma on 11 November to consider a draft law banning to recognize the quotes and the content of the Bible, the Koran, the Tanakh and the Gandzhur "extremist materials". The bill was supported by all the Duma parties and representatives of religious confessions.
The lower house of Russian Parliament on 11 November, the President's bill, which prohibits to recognize the content of and quotations from the Scriptures extremist. The document is discussed in the 2nd reading.
1st Deputy Governor of the faction "United Russia" Sergey Popov has reminded that the bill proposes to ban extremist materials recognize the words of the Bible, the Koran, the Tanakh, Gandzhur. "For us it is consciously relevant draft law, which was supported by all factions. Moreover, I would like to note that full consensus between the heads of all religious faiths in the Russian Federation who supported this bill," - said the Deputy.
Sergey Popov said that today there are dishonest people and civil servants are trying to use sayings from founding religious documents for different purposes. "Most likely, when we talk about the need to maintain our spiritual, interethnic and interreligious unity, it is extremely important to put a barrier to protect and give the possibility to use for these purposes, these are rather important, dear to all believers in Russia of the Holy Scriptures," noted the legislator.
Without adequate protection, according to Popova, now the world can sometimes be many cases of violated well-established norms of morality, customary values, which increased the European civilization. "Prohibited a number of things related to the customs and traditions of these religions. And Russia in this sense is the only power that has openly stated about the need to protect our fundamental spiritual values", - said the MP.
According to his statement, the whole of society at the moment, quite significantly, that the government and the President sees and responds to these difficulties. "I think that's why now so much public support for this bill. And I am convinced that we unanimously support it now," said Sergei Popov.
Remember, President Vladimir Putin October 14, introduced the state Duma a draft law banning the recognition of extremist materials the texts of the Bible, the Koran, the Tanakh and the Gandzhur. A month before the appearance of the bill, the Tribunal of the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk declared extremist are a few quotes from the Quran. This decision was later cancelled by a higher court.
