Pete Doherty Investigated Over Actor`s Death
Pete Doherty is facing a fresh police investigation over an actor who fell to his death at a party - the British rocker`s bodyguard has reportedly admitted pushing the man onto the balcony he plunged from. The Babyshambles star was attending a bash at an apartment in London in December 2006 when an argument broke out among guests, leading to budding actor Mark Blanco toppling from a ledge onto the street below.
He later died in hospital from severe head injuries. Blanco`s death came amid speculation that Doherty, his bodyguard Johnny `Headlock` Jeannevol, and party host Paul Roundhill were involved in the incident. An inquest heard the three men had argued with Blanco, with Jeannevol admitting he forced the actor out of the flat and Roundhill revealing he punched him during the scuffle.
Cops ruled out suspicious circumstances and decided Blanco had either committed suicide or plunged to his death as he tried to jump on to a nearby lamppost. But now Jeannevol says he shoved Blanco out of the party for a second time - seconds before the 30 year old fell.
In a taped interview released by the News of the World, Jeannevol says, "It calmed down for a moment after he was gone - but the next thing I knew Mark was back in the flat. I pushed him out of the door to the balcony and shut the door. The next thing we knew he was lying in a heap."
Blanco`s mum Sheila, who is considering legal action, adds, "We know it was not suicide. There was 52 seconds from the time Mark re-entered the building to the time he fell." Sheila`s lawyer Michael Wolkind adds, "At last we have an admission that Mark came back into the flat and again they threw him out. They are inching closer to the balcony and we are inching closer to the truth." A spokesperson for London`s Metropolitan Police says, "The new evidence will be investigated fully."
