Yasmin Le Bon "winces" when people remind her of her age
The 45-year-old model began modelling in 1980, but is still enjoying a successful career. She is happy with her age and has no problem with growing older, but doesn-t enjoy it when others discuss it. Yasmin doesn`t understand why people obsess about how women look in their advancing years, and is keen to teach her three daughters with husband Simon Le Bon that there is more to life than appearances.
"Whenpeople say, `I can`t believe you`re 45,` it makes me wince. I don`t want to be judged because of that or by those ideals any more," she explained. "It`s fine when you`re younger - it`s not so fine when you have three grown-up daughters. I need to move on from it."
Yasmin and Simon married in 1985 and are still very much in love. The model insists the secret to their happy union is that they trust each other totally, something she claims is essential to a successful marriage.
She has told her kids Amber, 20, Saffron, 18 and 16-year-old Tallulah, this, and is hopeful they take the message on board. Yasmin is very close to her daughters, and loves giving them advice wherever possible.
"It`s because I`m half-Persian. We never shut up so I`ll say what I think whether they want to hear it or not. They are very patient with me. I don-t know how they haven`t murdered me yet," she told Stylist magazine. "We-re going to be hell to cope with. If we make it to grandchildren, they are going to really get hell. I-ve spent so many years being so diplomatic and sweet. It-s payback time. In fact I-ve already started speaking my mind more. But I-m allowed to. I-m in the twilight years of my modelling career."
