Travolta`s dogs killed in a freak airport accident
The pets perished at Bangor International Airport in Maine on Thursday, shortly after the private jet John owns landed. It remains unclear whether John, his wife Kelly Preston or their daughter Ella Bleu, ten, were on the plane at the time.
"At approximately 1 am on Thursday, May 13, 2010, an airplane carrying members of the John Travolta family landed at BIA," a statement from airport director Rebecca Hupp reads. "While there, two small dogs were taken for a walk by someone who is not a family member. An airport service pickup truck was approaching the airplane to service the plane and did not see the dogs. Unfortunately, the dogs were struck and killed."
The incident is currently being investigated by the airport as they try to uncover how it happened.
John and his family have not released a statement, and the pet`s names are currently not known.
The accident comes 16 months after John and Kelly`s 16-year-old son Jett died while on a family holiday in the Bahamas.
