The German regulator banned "Gazprom" to use the extra power Opal
The regulator of Germany has forbidden Gazprom to use the extra power of the Opal pipeline to transport raw materials in the European Union.
The ban even extends to pre-booked capacity and will start to operate on September 14 at 7: 00, reads the release.
It also contains a warning that violation of the ban will result in fines.
On Tuesday, the court of the European Union overturned the decision of the European Commission from 2016 expanding access "Gazprom" to the Opal, considering it violates the principle of energy solidarity. Now the Russian Firm should reduce transport through the pipe to half of transit capacity.
