MariahCarey is reportedly desperate to buy Michael Jackson`s furniture.
The King of Pop died one year ago today of acute Propofol intoxication by intravenous injection of another. To mark the first anniversary of his death, auction company Julien`s is planning a huge sale of possessions belonging to the `King of Pop`, which will take place in Las Vegas tomorrow.
Among the items set to go under the hammer is an ornate gold brocade living room set Michael hand-selected for the British mansion he was renting for the duration of his planned This Is It London residency last July. The star paid $200,000 for the pieces, but they are expected to go for over $1 million.
Gossip website TMZ has reported that Mariah has ordered her interior designer Kenneth Bordewick to purchase the set for her Los Angeles mansion.
Proceeds from the auction, minus commissions, will go to Michael`s estate.
Meanwhile, Michael`s fans are gathering at his final resting place Forest Lawn Memorial Park to pay tribute to the late star. Thousands of people have flocked to the site to mark the anniversary of Michael`s passing.
Fans are also expected to crowd around the Jackson family home in Encino, which has gone into "lockdown". The Los Angeles Police Department has reportedly stationed up to 40 officers outside the mansion.
The Jackson family are expected to mark Michael-s death in a private ceremony in his hometown of Gary, Indiana. Michael`s children Prince Michael, 13, Paris, 12, and eight-year-old Prince Michael II, known as `Blanket`, spent yesterday relaxing on a beach in Maui, but are thought to be flying to join the rest of the family today.
