Gazprom has sold its stake in the operator of GTS of Latvia
"Gazprom" has sold 34% in the operator of the gas transportation system of Latvia Conexus Baltic Grid, said in a Russian organization.
"Gazprom" in February began the process of selling the share price of 77 million Euro. The deal for a long time was not able to be closed because precedent rules were not made, and the purchase price has not been paid.
Riga in 2016 liberalizes the gas market during the 3rd energy package of the EU, which involves the separation of gas organizations by types of activity (production, transport and sale), writes the print edition. Monopoly gas supplier Latvijas Gaze, Gazprom was the largest shareholder with 34, 1% was separated, and the Russian Firm has received the same package in Conexus. Other owners are Augstsprieguma tikls (34, 36%) and Marguerite Fund (29, 1%).
Conexus Baltic Grid was the last Baltic assets from which Gazprom is obliged to leave at the request of the 3rd energy package. In 2014 "Gazprom" after a long struggle against the division of the Lithuanian Lietuvos dujos sold the state shares in the organizations and created operator Amber Grid for 164 million dollars, and in 2016, came out of Estonia and AS Eesti Gaas AS Vorguteenus Valdus.
