Robert De Niro is being lined up for a role in `New Year`s Eve`
The `Taxi Driver` actor is among a host of stars set to join the follow up to `Valentine`s Day` with Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank and Ashton Kutcher also in talks for the ensemble romantic comedy.
The movie - which will be directed by `Pretty Woman` director Garry Marshall - will tell the story of the romantic lives of a group of New Yorkers over the course of New Year`s Eve.
Robert`s role is reported to be that of a bitter dying man in a hospital, while Michelle is beinglined up to play a frustrated secretary who decides to take control of her life, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Ashton - who has previously worked with the director in `Valentine`s Day` is in talks to play a man who hates New Years Eve. Oscar-winner Hilary is set to play a producer of the famous Times Square New Year`s Eve show.
Mike Karz and Wayne Rice will produce the movie for New Line Cinema.
`Glee` star Lea Michele and `Little Miss Sunshine` star Abigail Breslin have already signed on for parts in the movie.
