Russian soldiers don`t have leather boots.
Russian army will not deny tarpaulin boots, said the chief of the Central Clothes Department of Ministry of Defense Sergei Shlyaev.
"Tarpaulin boots are very important for us. They are cheap in comparison with other boots, comfortable and much lighter in weight" - declared the chief. According to his words, this kind of boots the Russian soldier can wear for eight months - it?s the period for which the Russian soldiers have their uniforms. In addition these boots have leather lining.
"In USA in the army only the boots cost $200-220. Their system of army is for 100% is on contract basis. But in Russia we can?t afford that. But from the economic point of view we even don?t need it", - said Shlyaev.
