Russian rider romps to record
Daredevil Russian animal tamer Edgard Zapashny has had one of his toughest tricks included in the Guinness Book of Records.
ґThe one-off horse-riding act features Zapashny and his two female assistants, forming a four-and-a-half-meter "tower" on the backs of two running horses.
Famed for their legendary lion-taming skills, brothers Edgard and Askold Zapashny created this risky acrobatic act especially for the Guinness Book of Records, and have been polishing it for almost two years.
Physically challenging to the extreme, it involves Edgard balancing on the backs of two running horses with nothing to hold his legs in place, while two women with a total weight of 110 kilos stand on his shoulders.
Edgard explained that the challenge was "to perform a trick that no other circus in the world has ever done before."
The ambitious Zapashny Brothers` circus has already made it into the Guinness Book of Records in 2006. Back then, Askold Zapashny performed a trick with a lion called Michael. The animal jumped a distance of almost three meters from one two-meter-wheel to another, with the fearless tamer on his back.
