David Beckham wants to coach children when he retires
The 37-year-old star - who currently plays for Los Angeles Galaxy in the US - believes working with youngsters would be far more rewarding for him than management, which is what he thinks many assume he will do.
He said: "People always ask me what I want to do when I`ve finished playing, and they say, `Do I want to go into management?`
"To be honest I`ve never wanted to go into management. I love coaching kids, I love working with kids. They`re amazing people. They`re amazingly truthful, young people, and that`s what I love doing.
David - who has four children, Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, nine, Cruz, seven and nine-month-old daughter Harper with husband Victoria Beckham - also revealed he was particularly excited to recently take the Olympic torch from Greece to the UK ahead of the 2012 London Games.
He added to the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "It was incredible. To bring the flame back from Athens into England was a huge honour for myself and I`m very proud of that."
David is widely expected to take part in the Olympic Games as part of the Great Britain soccer team.
