Putin came to Japan with official visit
TOKYO, November 20 - Russian President Vladimir Putin came to Tokyo with an official visit.
The main events of the visit programme include negotiations with Japan prime-minister Dzunitiro Koidzumi and audience at the Emperor Akihito`s place.
As the Russian president`s assistant Sergey Prixodko informed: "It is planned to examine the whole complex of relations between Russia and Japan, define questions of future collaboration in different fields."
The main task of the meeting will be discussion of the problem of a peace treaty, which Russia and Japan cannot sign since the end of the Second World War over the uncertainty of the territorial question.
According to the results of talks the package of documents will be signed during the meeting. It is supposed to include a programme for bilateral cooperation in struggle against terrorism, an agreement on completing negotiations with Japan about Russia?s accession to the World Trade Organisation and an agreement on scrapping five N-submarines of the Russian Pacific Fleet
The visit is supposed to end up with an audience, given by Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko on November 22.
