New subway stations to open in Moscow by 2007
The head of Moscow metropolitan Dmitrii Gaev announced that construction of central part of Lublinsk-Dmitrivsky line will be finished soon.
By his words, central part of this line starts operation in 2007. Mitinsko-Stroginskaya line from "Victory Park" station to "Kuczevskaya" station and from "Krilatskoe" station to "Strogino" will open at the end of 2007-beginning of 2008.
The head of capital subway noted that in next 2 years Butovskaya line will be extended to "Bitczevsky park" station. He also added that construction of Filevskaya line from station "Business center" to "International" will be continued next year. Gaev emphasized that program of subway construction plans to liquidate deficit of lines, which is 90 km at present moment, by 2015.
The head of Moscow metropolitan reminded that at New Year night, from December 31, 2005 to January 1, 2006, and at Christmas night, from January 6 to 7, 2006, metropolitan will work not till 2:00 a.m. by Moscow time but one hour longer (till 03:00).
It should be mentioned that Moscow metropolitan intends to build second circle line in future years. First part of second circle line will connect "International" and "Sverdlovskaya" stations. It will have 6 stations, 3 of which are connected with radial lines.
Meanwhile, since January 1, 2006 Moscow subway will cost 2 rubles more - 15 rubles. Prices on travel documents will also increase.
