Cyclone broke transport communication with Sakhalin
Because of cyclone, spreading from Japan Sea, there is no transport communication with south regions of Sakhalin and on Kuriles.
Airport in South Sakhalin is closed for arrivals and departures from 0:15 of Sunday by local time (17:15 of Saturday by Moscow time) till 15:00 of Sunday (8:00 by Moscow time). There is a possibility that airport will not open after this term because it is expected that weather will become even worse.
Storm at Tatar channel increased in power - rate of wind above sea reaches 20-25 meters per second, height of waves is 3-4 meters.
As soon as all ferryboats return from Sakhalin to Vanino port in Habarovsky krai, ferry communication between the island and continent will be stopped until the weather improves. All ships will wait in port till storm is over.
Meanwhile traffic inspector informed that almost all highways are still opened on islands. Traffic is closed only at highway Ogonki-Nevelsk in south-west of Sakhalin.
