Russian president wished Patriarch Aleksey Merry Christmas
Russian president Vladimir Putin has sent greetings of Merry Christmas to Patriarch of Moscow and of All Russia Aleksey II.
"In these festive days, full of joy and hopes, I with gratitude note Your contribution in strengthening of peace, harmony, mutual understanding between people, in development of productive dialogue between church and state on actual problems of modern society", - was said in message of the head of the state.
By words of president, Russian citizens appreciate concern of Patriarch for revival of historical and cultural traditions, patriotic upbringing of youth and conservation of healthy moral climate in the society".
The day before Vladimir Putin, who is on business trip in Yakutia, attended the divine service in Transfiguration cathedral of Yakutsk along with common parishioners.
