German Gref: Russia to enter WTO by end of 2006
Russia intends to enter World Trade Organization by the end of 2006, announced Russian minister of economic development and trade German Gref.
"We consider our chances for entering WTO in 2006 as high", - said Gref, who has arrived to Davos for participation in annual session of World economic forum.
In Davos Gref plans to meet with general director of WTO Pascal Lame, USA trade representative Rob Portman, EU trade commissar Peter Mendelssohn, Swiss minister of economics Joseph Dice, and Brazil minister of industry, trade and tourism Fernando Furlan.
By Gref`s words, Russian delegation will discuss preparation of final report about Russian entering to WTO by Working Group.
Earlier director of trade negotiations department Maxim Medvedkov informed that Russia hopes to sign final protocols with Switzerland and Brazil.
Gref reminded that there are no final agreements with these countries but expressed the hope that all remaining issues will be settled during meetings with colleagues.
