Moscow "CSKA" won Madrid "Real" in basketball European League
Moscow team stays on third position in group C of European League ULEB. Team of Ettore Messina has defeated Madrid "Real" with score of 80:71. Now CSKA has 8 victories in 12 games and Russian club is 1 point ahead of "Real". The leaders of this group are "Panatinaikos" and "Unikaha" with 10 victories.
CSKA was leading during first quarter but after third quarter the advantage was on the side of the rival - 47:60. But Russian basketball players managed to turn the course of the game. At the end of the game the score was equal and overtime has revealed the winner.
CSKA has lost leading center player David Anderson during the game. Moreover, David Vanterpool got injury of a knee but was able to return to the playground and continue the game.
"We started the match at high level, moved quickly. But we were surprised at effectiveness of Rakochevich in third quarter. When it seems that the game is lost the team demonstrated its character, - said head coach of CSKA Ettore Messina in interview. - The defence demonstrated itself from good side, we searched for good variants in attacks. But the game is now at the second plan comparing with trauma of David Anderson. The sportsman will be examined in Moscow but it seems like the injury is serious".
