Georgia accused Russia of genocide and ethnic purge
Georgian Ambassador in UNO Revaz Adamia accused Russia of genocide and committing of ethnic purge in Abkhazia. He announced that 300 thousands ethnic Georgians were expatriated from Abkhazia and 10 thousands were killed during conflict.
Georgian representative also appealed to UNO to examine the possibility of replacement of CIS peace-making forces in zone of Georgian-Abkhazian conflict "by real peace-supporting operation under UNO leadership". This suggestion was grounded "by serious change in Russian position" regarding perspectives of conflict regulation between Tbilisi and Sokhumi.
Meanwhile Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that "Russian peace-makers are supported by North-Caucasian vakhabits". In opinion of Tbilisi, Russian special services along with "separative" government of Abkhazia and extremists prepare provocations to keep Russian peace-making status.
Georgian diplomats insist that messages from Sokhumi about "stirring up of Georgian partisan diversionary actions" are not corresponding to the reality. "There is no doubt that main motives and purposes of such announcements is to excuse inactivity of Russian peace-making forces", - considers Tbilisi.
The situation in conflict zone worsened after traffic accident, when Russian peace-maker lost control of "Ural" lorry and collided with "Zhiguli" automobile owned by local citizen. Arrived to place of accident Georgian servicemen and Russian peace-makers started the fight until preventive shooting in the air. As a result administration of peace-makers agreed with demands of Georgian side to transport "Ural" lorry to penalty parking lot.
Soon after the accident Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned Tbilisi of escalation of provocative actions against peace-makers. As official representative of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mikhail Kamynin said, the incident with automobiles served as a motive for demonstrative strengthening of Georgian military presence in Abkhazia - 500 servicemen of military police and mountain brigade of Georgian Armed forces have been transferred to the region of incident.
