Ulianovsk governor suggested to bury Lenin?s body in Ulianovsk
The governor of Ulianovsk region Sergey Morozov suggested to bury the body of Vladimir Lenin in Ulianovsk if there will be a decision about committing to the earth of his body.
As it said by press-cutting service of the governor and the government of Ulianovsk region, the governor gave an order to the government of region to make address to the Russian government with this suggestion on Monday at meeting.
"The governor offers to bury Lenin?s body on the cemetery of Pokrovskii monastery, where the body of his father was buried".
Simbirsk (previous name of Ulianovsk) is Lenin?s native land; he spent his childhood and youth there. The gymnasia where he studied and houses where his family lived were kept safe.
Compatriots of Lenin revere Ulianov family?s memory. There are several monuments of member of the family placed in Ulianovsk, there was built a memorial to his centenary. State historic memorial reserve "Native land of V.I.Lenin" works there.
The discussion about reburial of Lenin?s body recommenced after returning of ashes of general Anton Denikin to Russia. He was one of leaders of White Guard.
