91% of Russians refuse to bear children
According to data of research group only 2% of Russian citizens older than 18 years plan to bear a child this year. 5% of young people are not against pregnancy but have no confidence that they will bear this year.
At the same moment 91% of questioned are confident that they don`t need children this year.
Talking about geography the most favorable situation for posterity is in Southern federal region: 15% of population are ready for delivery of heir or heiress. The opposite situation is in North-West region - 96% of polled don`t rush to see descendants.
The relation to children is more optimistic among villagers (11%) and people with high education (10%).
Moscow demonstrates good results recently - birth rate has increased by 1/3 in capital since 1999. The weather also contributes to situation: there is an opinion that frost makes married couple to spend more time in bed.
