USA requires Palestinians to return 50 million dollars
The authorities of the USA turned to the Palestinian autonomy with the request to return 50 million dollars transferred by the USA to the government of Mahmoud Abbas. The USA directed these money for different projects on the reconstruction of the infrastructure of autonomy when Israel left the Gaza Strip and the territories on the western bank of the river Jordan.
Commenting on the requirement the representative of the State Department Sean McCormack referred to the acting in the USA rules of rendering to financial aid, forbidding the transfer of money to terrorist organizations.
Since the new government of the autonomy will be formed by the motion Hamas acknowledged by Washington as the terrorist organization the USA cannot allow that the financial aid would fall into the hands of new cabinet of ministers.
McCormack also added that to obtain straight financial aid from the USA for Hamas, it is necessary to recognize the right of Israel to existence, to forego the violence, to disarm combat forces and to recognize all Palestinian-Israeli agreements of past years.
According to the representative of the State Department, the temporal government headed by Mahmoud Abbas has already agreed to return the money.
