Austria did not want to supply gas to Ukraine
Austrian oil and gas group OMV will not carry out reverse gas supplies to Ukraine, said the head of the organization Gerhard Royce. About it informs the wall Street Journal. Royce said that the company is obliged to fulfil their obligations, most importantly in front of their major partners. Also the head of OMV considered unlikely scenario in which Ukraine will stop the transit of gas from Russia. According to him, Gazprom does everything to fulfill their obligations on gas exports. Also Royce added that for uninterrupted supply of gas to Europe should increase supplies via Nord stream, which is currently used by only 50%. Recall, Ukraine currently receives gas physical reverse from Poland and Hungary. At the end of July it was announced that the delivery volumes decreased due to the fact that Hungary has increased the pumping of gas into its storage underground. Kiev Also nourishes hope in the near future to launch a so-called virtual reverse, which involves buying gas from European suppliers and selection of gas from transit, coming from Russia for the relevant counterparties in the EU.
