2000 fans and Abramovich support Russian team in Slovakia
Russian ambassador in Slovakia Aleksnadr Udalzov, presidential assistant Sergey Yastrzhembsky, Chukotka governor Roman Abramovich, delegates of Government Duma and 2000 of fans will support football team in conclusive match of World Cup-2006 selection tournament against Slovakian team in Bratislava.
On Tuesday and Wednesday 4 charters with fans arrived to Bratislava. Moreover, Russians who live and work in Austria, Czechia and Slovakia are expected to come.
In the view of accident occurred on Tuesday evening in Bratislava as result of which 37 Russian fans were arrested and 2 got knife injuries, town police works in special regime. 200 policemen are in Bratislava center, number of patrols also increased. "Slovan" stadium that can seat 30000 of fans was encircled by emergency plat with dogs at night.
Department of information and press of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs published special announcement which says: "In the view of football match between Russia and Slovakia Russian embassy pays special attention to security of football players and fans. For these aims Embassy officials are in constant contact with Slovakian law machinery, Russian delegation leadership and fans` representatives. Diplomatic representative will do everything possible to secure interests of Russian citizens".
As a reminder: match will start today at 22:30. Yurii Semenov team needs only victory to take second place in group and to continue struggle for ticket to world space in jointing matches.
