Brandt: Europe all wrong, building relations with Moscow
Europe got it all wrong in building its relations with Russia, its President and Ukraine, according to a famous German historian Peter Brandt, quoted by Italian magazine.
According to Brandt, if the objective of Europe was the development of a " common European home " by using a stable security structure and closer cooperation with Russia, something went wrong.
" most of the proposals from Russia, and most centuries Putin in the early years of his reign, the West never gave a constructive response. While he was able to keep Ukraine immediately in 2 integration process with the European Union and the Eurasian Union, giving the possibility to Kiev to become a bridge between the 2 worlds, " says Peter Brandt.
With regard to current foreign policy of the EU, according to Brandt, today still applicable methods of discharge relations, which were peculiar policy of Germany in 1966, he believes That at the present time the most important condition of conflict is the de-escalation of tension on both sides, as well as readiness and ability to see the conflict through the eyes of the enemy.
