Property of "YUKOS" may be sold to pay back
Deputy chief of Federal Service of High Bailiffs of Russia Sergey Sazanov told that today.
Taking into consideration that there is not enough money on accounts of "YUKOS" to pay offset of debt such decision is probable. "In that case the whole procedure of valuation and selling would take more than three months", - specified Sazonov.
He informed the day before that high bailiffs imposed a penalty on "YUKOS" more than 402 milliards of rubles of tax debts and penalty fees. The balance is now 199,3 milliards of rubles. $475 millions that Moscow arbitrage called to accounts of 14 foreign banks are not included in this sum. These banks gave credit at the rate $1 milliard in 2003.

Sum total of tax claims to "YUKOS" and its "daughters" during 2000-2003 years mounted to $27,5 milliards. "Uganskneftegas", the main assets of oil company, was sold for $9,35 milliards. After selling "Uganskneftegas" "YUKOS" had two large-scale oil-producing enterprises: "Samaraneftegas" and "Tomskneft". First-rate shareholder of "YUKOS" is Gibraltarian Group Menatep which controls 61% of stocks. 10% of stocks are in possession of fund Veteran Petroleum, 8,8% - owners of "Sibneft". All accounts and assets of "YUKOS" including 20% of stock of "Sibneft" are arrested. At year-end of 2004 rights for ownership of 59,5% of stocks passed on to Leonid Nevzlin.
