Born February 16, 1940 in the village Plastunovskoy Dinskaya district of the Krasnodar Territory in a peasant family, Russian.
Since 1956 worked as a trailer on the farm "Red Star" Dinskaya district of Krasnodar Krai (page Dinskaya). In 1959 he was drafted into the army.
In 1966 he graduated from the Kuban Agricultural Institute.
In 1966 - 70 he worked in the kolkhoz "Red Star" - an agronomist, a senior agronomist, deputy chairman of the kolkhoz. In 1970 he was transferred to party work.
In 1982 - 84 - Director General of the North Caucasus association of the sugar industry (r. Krasnodar).
