James Jeffreys from birth had delicious physical force. One day while hunting he podsrelil elk and carried him shoulder 9 miles.
James Jackson Jeffries (Jim) was born April 15, 1875 in Ohio, the family farmer. He had four brothers and three sisters. In 1881, Jeffreys family moved to Los Angeles. There, like many of his peers, he began to get involved in wrestling and boxing.

Career as a professional boxer, he began in Los Angeles in 1896, knocking in the 14th round of the veteran of the ring, has spent more than 100 fights, M. Griffin. Between Jeffreys and his manager, William Brady never had a legal contract. Brady said: word Jeffreys better than kontrat.
Jim for three years, scored victory after victory, until disagree to fight world champion Robert Fitzsimmons. The battle took place on June 9, 1899 in Brooklyn. Throughout his long career as the champion Jeffries was never on the floor, he also owns a record for the fastest knockout - 55 seconds.
Later, James Jeffreys, several times participated in the demonstration battles. He died in March 3, 1953 in California.
