. WцІhler was the first in a pure form of very many substances: aluminum, amorphous boron, beryllium, yttrium, silicon carbide SiC and calcium carbide CaC2.
. Friedrich Wohler (1800-1882) - German chemist, was born in Esherheyme near Frankfurt in the family of the eminent burgher
. At the insistence of parents, he graduated from the Medical Faculty of the University of Marburg, and in 1823 received a doctorate in medicine - the surgeon.
But Wohler from an early age drew Chemistry. Another first-year students in the chemical laboratory of the University, he prepared cyanide iodine ICN in the interaction of dry potassium cyanide with iodine. Surgery he did not, and he urged the Swedish chemist Berzelius give him vozmozhnst laboratory work under his leadership.
Wohler had a calm even disposition. Since the German chemist Liebig he had a longstanding friendship. Liebig later wrote: "Without envy and jealousy, hand in hand we walked to our common road, when one needed help, the other was ready to give it to him"

. He proposed a new method for white phosphorus P4 by heating a mixture of calcium orthophosphate Ca3 (PO4) 2, coal and sand (silicon dioxide) SiO2. This method is still used in industry in almost all countries.
But the most famous was the acquisition Wohler synthesis of urea (NH2) 2CO (urea) for evaporation of the solution of ammonium cyanate NH4NCO - organic matter from inorganic.
Wohler was married twice. His first wife died after two years of marriage. From the second marriage to Julia Pfeiffer, he had four daughters, one of whom, Emily, became his secretary and biographer.
