Beklemishev Vladimir

1890-1962
Born g. Grodno family physician. In 1913, Mr.. graduated from the Imperial St. Petersburg University, which specialized in invertebrate zool-ergy, under the guidance of professors V.T. Shevyakova, VA. Dogiel, VM. Shimkevich. After graduation he was left "to prepare for a professorship". Since 1918. worked at the University of Perm. In 1932, Mr.. moved to z. Moscow, where for 30 years headed the Division of the Institute of Medical Parasitology and Tropical Medicine. E.I. Martsinovsky. Academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR VN. Beklemishev performed classic study of the biology of malarial mosquitoes and other blood-sucking arthropods. Under his leadership, has developed a system of measures, which resulted in the USSR was almost entirely eradicated malaria. He created a series of original concepts in biocenology and general parasitology.
