Biography Kettle Raymond Bernard
Born: March 20, 1905 in Staffordshire, England.

Died: February 2, 1998.

In 16 years Kettle joined the Royal College of London University, where he studied mainly physics and chemistry. A few months before graduation and graduation with honors, he found that training in the physical sciences does not meet its increased interest in social issues. Ignoring the advice of friends and classmates, Kettle decided to devote his diploma, and career psychology. In 1929 he received a doctorate in philosophy at the University of London. As a graduate student, he worked as a research assistant at the Charles Spearman, the famous British psychologist has developed a method of factor analysis

. Since then, he remains in the United States. In 1938, about a job at the faculty of Clark University, where at that time a professor of psychology, worked as Mr.. Stanley Hall, and then in 1941 took a post as a lecturer of psychology at Harvard. In 1945, Kettle joined the University of Illinois, where he remained for almost 30 years as director of the Laboratory of the individual and group analysis. In 1973, Kettle left his position at the University of Illinois and moved to Boulder, Colorado, where he founded the Institute for the Exploration of the foundations of morality and self -. Since 1977, he became a consultant professor at the University of Hawaii, as well as an honorary professor at Illinois. He is still actively involved in research and writing scientific papers.

As one of the most prolific theorists in the study of personality. Kettle published during his career some 35 books and 400 research articles. The most worthy of attention following his book: "The description and measurement of personality" (1946), "Personality: systematic theoretical and factual study" (1950), "The scientific analysis of personality" (1965), "Inheritance of personality and abilities" (1982) and " Beyondizm: Religion of Science "(1987),

At the age of 92 years, Raymond B. Kettle died of natural causes at his home in Honolulu.
