. Autobiographical notes
.
. In Dodonova, . Utrillo and Modigliani - even before my parents were raised: first, . there was some kind of "cultural training" with the campaigns for exhibitions and theaters, . continuous tours during the summer travel, . secondly, . I could not do nothing, . when seen, . that his father was working from morning till night.,
. Special educational awareness of time, it seemed not to include me in the realities of socio-political life
. I agonized for a long time: as I, a young artist with a decadent desires, all in poetry, knew only one thing: Stalin was bad, and Lenin - a good. And as I'm sixteen years old standing near the fence and shook his head, listening to the conversations neighbors, when everyone said that they say, zazhralis these Czechs, and we've entered the correct place tanks. Then, at eighteen, I could not understand why I could not understand.
What more strongly affected me, so it is - infinite love failures. I tried them - I wanted to be unhappy. Because a decadent walks with pink cheeks, well-fed and contented. I meticulously destroyed many of their romantic luck. I could think of suicide vest ladies uncharacteristic qualities ... Then I suddenly switched and represented an incredibly courageous character - and, apparently, badly treated by the young ladies who did not like. And that's all I once taught.
Then I came to the conclusion that the arts and communicate with the ladies - this is the same. (Now I think I already do not think so).
Paintings-same - this seems to be ideal love. The purely sensual and erotic stage is connected with that period of maturation in the art, when you are struggling with the material. In this state, it (art) or they (pictures) allow themselves to love you because you're doing them better.
But you learned to do things with his hands, came up with - and made. This surface sensitivity bored, and failure can happen. There is nothing more than this simple skill. Or born a new ideal situation - the picture begins to support you. On such cases, said that work to purify and elevate. No it does not "work", it is love.
Erotic condition, which can be felt in the paintings - it probably is the essence of life, its pulse, its movement. Even if the picture is about death, how else to understand that something is flowing, vibrate and promises. That is, the difference between the paintings and life is that in painting, I have much more power - I do what I want.
Long-term observation, vzhivanie layer upon layer animates the visible and shows the unknown.
Criticism

Brainin - a characteristic figure of the artistic life of Moscow, since the mid 70-ies. Simultaneously, he is a unique product stagnant period of Russia's history. And so, the artist is always - he is "black" and "white", and the bad and good, and the naive and the sophisticated ...
. This is the same art Brainina - regardless of the angle of view, the mood of the opponent, time of year, the political environment - it is always "this" and "other" simultaneously
.

Pictures Brainina have a strange feature - space of the image carries a physically tangible content of another space. Boulevard may divert the viewer a kilometer depth from the surface of the canvas, a wall with a bas-relief and the door will not allow the viewer more than a step in the paint layer ... And at the same time: Boulevard overturned and a plan itself (and yet somehow, . plan and cut excavations, . sensible and audible through the dark shadows of trees and lights reflected in puddles), and in the wall can enter, . dissolved in it (the door does not need), . and progress will be long - many decades ago,

. In the 1970's - early 80-ies critics and viewers of art Brainina pointed at me as if the action undertaken by the artist of the experiment: the familiar outlines of the Kremlin or the Pipe area itself a measure of recognition were equal polupridumannym homes and streets - learned the City,
. It appears the definition of "master of Moscow's landscape". But in the square Belosrusskaya medieval knight meets a policeman, caryatids almost alive, and has already acquired a portrait likeness of living people today, bring us the news of her new experience of life through destiny and the wall. The houses are pulled out from the topographic context and have become a symbol of time or a specific historical conflict - deep shadows, crack walls, silent exit cars from the arch, is dated: 1910, 1937, 1953, 1961 ..

. Depth images Brainina - is constantly experienced by the artist to combine assumptions about life, . fate and death in the plot, . in fragment, . which is now in his field of view - a multilayered virtuoso painting, . where layers lessirovok physically continue space, . reflecting and thinking of the artist, . and demonstrative artistry precise hand movements: I - the artist,
.

Originally Brainin was recorded in the traditional painters. Also, soon he was identified as an exemplary figure of the artist aesthetes. At the same time within the landscape genre soon became clear his obvious attraction to the classical values - by Guardi and Canaletto to Utrillo. So woven image Brainina - retrospektivista and traditionalist, the artist archaic, museum store. But over time it turned out that it is not engaged Brainin lyrical topography of the city, but expresses its history, the destruction, the tragedy of living and retired people.
. Aesthetically "retrospective" fabric of his paintings began to swirl baroque forms, which became the language of postmodern system nezamykayuschihsya polusyurrealisticheskih reflections
